The Elder Care Program is a collaboration between Health Care
& Rehabilitation Services (HCRS), the mental health agency serving
Windham and Windsor Counties, and the Council on Aging for Southeastern
Vermont. Program staff provide older adults (age 60 and over)
with mental health services in their homes and in the community.
The program is available to adults who are depressed, anxious
or face difficulties coping with stressors in their lives.
Some of the services they offer are: providing supportive counseling,
assisting with daily living tasks, and accompanying seniors into
the community to alleviate loneliness and isolation. Program staff
include a licensed social worker and psychologist, and trained
out reach workers.
